Recent Projects

With over 15 years of experience managing forests in New Hampshire and Vermont, Hooper Hill Forestry stays busy year-round working with Landowners on a multitude of  projects, such as Timber Harvesting, Timber Appraisals, Boundary Line Maintenance, GIS Mapping, Land Acquisition, Sugarbush Management, Forest Health Evaluations, Stumpage, Wildlife Habitat Creation, View Creation, and Forest Roads and Trail Building. We are proud of our work and relationships with Landowners.

Some of our most recent projects in New Hampshire and Vermont include:

Stewardship Planning for the Town of Wentworth, NH — Produced stewardship (management) plan for the Town of Wentworth Conservation Commission to guide the Town through sustainable long-term forest management. We are currently logging the forest using single tree and group selection harvests to improve forest health, and increase wildlife habitat.

Boundary Line Markers

Timber Harvesting in Groton, NH Initiated logging operation for Landowner to improve forest health, clear hazardous trees from nearby buildings, and reclaim property views.

Timber Appraisal in Concord, VT Performed a 1,400-acre timber appraisal, measuring and grading trees in a grid pattern, to update Vermont Use Value and develop an up-to-date stewardship plan. Produced topographic maps and aerial photography as part of mapping project.

Just starting a new timber harvest in Groton, N.H.

Timber Appraisal and GIS Mapping in Orford, NH Performed a 1,600-acre timber cruise to develop a stewardship plan, in preparation to put the forest under a Conservation Easement. This will keep the forest protected forever for future generations to enjoy around Indian Pond.

Timber Harvest and Forest Trail Creation in Wentworth, NH Managed logging operation to clear a house site, provide income for the landowner, thin the forest, remove undesirable species, and build forest trails for ATV, snowmobile, hunting, and other general access to 190 acres of land.

Boundary Line Maintenance in Rumney, NH Recovered boundary lines with axe blazes and paint to help the homeowner identify his forest boundaries.

Current Use Updates Updated Current Use for multiple clients across Central New Hampshire to reflect changes in Current Use types or categories. All updates resulted in a decrease in taxation on the forested acreage.
